Lauren studied at Utah Valley University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. During her studies, she worked at a residential treatment center for at-risk youth, interned at a police department as a victim advocate, volunteered with ScenicView Academy, and piloted a student mentor program.

Following her graduation, Lauren moved to Conway, Arkansas while her husband finished his college degree. During this time Lauren worked as a case manager for Arcare, a grant-funded initiative that helps low-income individuals and families who suffer from autoimmune diseases access tools and programs which enable them to afford the treatments and care they require. This experience gave Lauren valuable insight into case management and showed her the value of working with populations that she had previously not had experience with. Lauren’s experiences at her internships, service opportunities, and professional work have shown her the value of individuals and the desperate need that society has for compassionate social workers. Through these Lauren has gained needed insight and training to enable her to serve individuals and families who come from diverse backgrounds and have varied needs.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys writing, hiking with her husband, roller skating (especially on Disco Night), and experimenting with new recipes.
