Mel is currently studying at Brigham Young University towards a BA in Exercise Sciences. During their time as an undergraduate, they had the opportunity to intern at ScenicView and fell in love with the organization as a whole. They love seeing students reach their full potential while having fun, actively building community and rapport.
As a Live Skills Specialist, Mel helps students develop and maintain skills related to Transportation through collaborative teaching and mentoring. Mel has spent countless hours navigating public transportation here in Utah, and providing insights on car/bike maintenance to many individuals. Mel is a high-energy individual whose priorities are promoting inclusion in the community.
Outside of their work at ScenicView, Mel enjoys longboarding, weight-lifting, doing scientific research, celebrating their Brazilian heritage, and serving their community.
