Julie is a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong background in special education and student advocacy. She holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications from Utah State University and a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Phoenix, with endorsements in Severe to Profound and Mild to Moderate disabilities.
With over two decades of experience in education, Julie began her career as a paraeducator in the Alpine School District before moving into full-time teaching at Centennial Middle School in Provo and Reagan Academy in Springville. She earned a certification in The Wilson Reading Program, and is a certified Dyslexia Practitioner, equipping her with specialized skills to support students with reading challenges.
Julie’s passion for working with neurodiverse learners led her to serve as an academic advisor at the Heritage Community, where she assisted students on the autism spectrum in achieving their educational goals. She strongly advocates for students with disabilities, believing meaningful connections and individualized support are key to fostering academic and personal growth.
Beyond the classroom, Julie is an avid traveler, dedicated birder, enthusiastic reader and writer, and nature lover. As a mother, nana, and wife, she brings warmth and dedication to every aspect of her life. She is thrilled to bring her expertise, passion, and commitment to student success to ScenicView Academy.
