Amy Trent joined ScenicView Academy in 2023 after a career working in Elementary Education. Amy enjoyed working with students and training teachers in math and science as well as sharing her love of reading. She has a master's degree in education focusing on curriculum and instruction. This degree provides an understanding of learning cycles and how to engage diverse students in a variety of areas. Amy loves to break complex topics into simpler manageable steps. This allows her to find what students know and understand and then build on that understanding to reach their goals.
ScenicView Academy's mission to empower students to reach independence speaks to the long term vision Amy had working with young students and as a parent of two children of her own. Seeing family and friends parenting children with Autism has highlighted the need for resources and support for families and transitional services as those children reach adulthood. Life has taught Amy that initial mistakes or failures provide learning and can become strengths if given time, support, and courage. Her motto for life is "Try, try again."
